113th National Flag Day May 28, 2011

Iligan City celebrated the 113th National Flag Day at the Rizal Park participated by the different offices of the Local Government Units headed by the Honorable Mayor Lawrence Lluch Cruz.

The event, spearheaded by the Department of Education with the very able leadership of Dr. Cherry Mae F. Limbaco was highly praised by everyone who were present because of the unique way that they have decorated the stage.  They have decided to set-up a replica of the Aguinaldo Shrine where the first unfurling of the National Flag was held last June 12, 1898.

Dr. Limbaco was also ably supported by all her DepEd family in the district who presented a very nice "CariƱosa" number.

All the speakers highly praised the job very well done.

2011 Pasundayag Northern Mindanao at Mall of Asia, Pasay City on April 14-19, 2011

As the title implies, Pasundayag means showcase/show/highlight and exhibit.  These photos then are the sequence of events that unrolled during the Pasundayag Sa Northern Mindanao held last April 14 to 19, 2011 at the Music Hall, SM Mall Of Asia.  Beginning April 12 when all exhibitors had to rush starting at 10 o'clock in the evening (as no one is allowed to work during mall hours!), happily beating deadlines to be on time for the grand opening of the affair on April 14 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

Iligan City's highlight day was held April 16 starting at 4 o'clock in the afternoon until the mall's closing time, which was 10 o'clock in the evening.  The program started with the parade of guests and city officials present then the acknowledgement of everyone present.  There were songs sang by the Buhanginan Voices and the Singing Ambassadors of the region, dances by the MSU-IIT Kaamulan Cultural Dance Troupe, a special dance number by our city's first lady, Madam Gina M. Cruz, concert by guests artist headed by David DiMuzio and Jayson Fernandez (of Rivermaya), fireworks display by SM Mall Of Asia (a welcome interruption of the program!) and welcome speeches and tourists invitation by our Mayor and Vice Mayor.
All these activities held in the span of 6 hours...to the delight not just to the mall goers but to the exhibitors and hosts as well!
