Dr. RYAN B. BALILI, Ph. D.
PHYSICS
A Filipino scientist who has found a new source of coherent light, like lasers, which only potentially needs lower power to operate. The phenomenon is called Bose- Einstein Condensation (BEC). The only recognized young scientist from Southeast Asia who won the Gallieno Denardo Award 2011 for his work on semiconductor optics in Trieste, Italy. He also won the Physica Status Solidi Young Researcher Award for best research and presentation at the 7th International Conference on Excitonic Processes in Condensed Matter at Winston- Salem in the USA.
He has been an outstanding student, graduated Summa cum Laude and Class Valedictorian. He went on to obtain his masters and Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh under various scholarships and fellowships. After obtaining his degrees, he came back to serve in MSU- IIT and now head the Photonics Laboratory.

HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE
At present, there are now 7 learning centers established in other communities teaching children and adults how to read and write for free using the BLESS (Basic Education and Support System) Project of the School of Tomorrow. Feeding programs are also incorporated into these learning centers.

LITERATURE
She is the primemover of the Annual Iligan National Writers Workshop who made Iligan into the map as the top three writing centers of the country. She received numerous awards and published poetry, fiction and essays, features, news stories, academic papers, book, film and play reviews in national and international publications; textbooks on literature and literary anthologies, national newspapers like Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star and Philippines Yearbook (Fookien Times). She was cited as the Defender of the Heritage in Philippines Yearbook, One of the 100 Women Achievers in the Philippines by the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCAA) and a Promising Poet in the Philippines.
At present, she is a Professor VI, English Department, College of Arts and Social Sciences of MSU- Iligan Institute of Technology. She obtained her Doctorate of Fine Arts (Creative Writing) with High Distinction at De La Salle University, Manila.
Mr. MICAH STEFAN B. DAGAERAG
PUBLIC SPEAKING
He is a distinguished law student and a researcher. His current dissertation for his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree is on mapping out the breadth and depth of international human rights law, and how Philippine human rights law both meets and fails these international standards.
He competed in the 2010 International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition, where law schools from all over the Philippines engage in legal debates concerning the laws of war and the rights of civilians, organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross and have been awarded as Best Mooter and Over-all Champion in the competition, beating the University of the Philippines in the final round held at the en banc session hall of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. He went on to represent the Republic of the Philippines in the international rounds of the same competition at the University of Hong Kong. Most recently, in May 2011, he won a scholarship to go to St. Gallen, Switzerland to participate in “The Leader of Tomorrow” and challenge some of the most influential Leaders of Today.
Ms. NOELA MAE EVANGELISTA- MAGE
TOURISM INTERNATIONAL
She started joining beauty contests at the age of 17 and later became Miss Iligan. She went into modelling and joined other local and national beauty contests. She was the 1st Runner- Up MTV- Best Model of the World Philippines and 2nd Runner- Up in the Bb. Pilipinas.
In the International scene, she won the MTV Fashionista held in Turkey and the first Filipina to be crowned Queen of Tourism International in Cancun, Mexico. Aside from the grand prize, she also bagged the awards like Best in Long Gown, which also earned her the Miss Elegance title, Best in Oriental Costume, and Miss Queen of Tourism Asia. After her Cancun victory, Noela has received various offers abroad, including a modelling job in Milan, Italy.
Now, she is a happily married to Mr. Ronan Mage and a mother of Mael and Ewen.

BUSINESS
He is a Certified Public Account. His bakery and restaurant business started in Iligan City- thus we can call it a home grown business lines. He is the owner and franchisor of the Madelicious chain of bakeries and restaurants which spread to neighboring towns and cities in Mindanao and reaches as far as Tagbilaran City, Quezon City and Caloocan City. He has now 54 branches nationwide.
He put up another business lines like Inns and Lodges in Malaybalay City, Cagayan de Oro City, Naawan and Iligan City. Soon to be opened will be a hotel in Cebu City and the Plaza Alemania, formerly Iligan Day Inn Plaza. He is also a franchisee of the nation-wide well- known and award-winning salon- the Reyes Haircutters and, owner of the FM Radio Station (DXMA- The Edge). Lately, he is a franchisee of the first franchised computer center in Iligan City- The Bodega Site.
Dr. JOVENIANA C. HINAY, Ph. D.
EDUCATION
She is a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Planning and Management. She designed and initiated a School Science Park: A Laboratory of Learning in Focus in South II central School, Suarez, Iligan City. She has a vision of making every child a lover of nature imbued with proper values and attitudes and the mission to educate all children on the importance of our ecosystem for sustainable development.
A recipient of the following: Top 10 for the 4th Innovative Teachers’ Leadership Awards, Semi- Finalist by the Metrobank Search for Outstanding Teachers. Plaque of Excellence for Exemplary Performance in the field of Education, 1st Runner- up Most Outstanding Public School Teachers Award, 2nd Place best Presenter Award (National Level) and a National Winner Search for Outstanding Science Club Advisers of the Philippines.
Mr. GIAN JORGE P. ROMANO
FASHION
He is a popular Filipino designer who is well loved for his emphasis on form, concept and construction. His collection, which combines forward thinking, minimalism, streamlined shapes with hints of utilitarian elements, has been strongly influenced by his travel experiences, music and street culture. His solid and well- thought through pieces combine sharp tailoring juxtaposed with a devil-may-care attitude, and have gained him a cult following among those looking for outfits which are easy to include in any wardrobe yet strong enough to go unnoticed.
The first Filipino designer to showcase his collection at Singapore’s Audi Fashion Festival and received a scholarship grant to study at Central St. Martins by the British Council.
Mr. VICTOR BRUCE M. LLUCH
SPORTS (CHESS)
He made exemplary records in the field of Chess. In 1997, he was the Philippine Grand Champion in the Shell National Youth Active Chess Championship and the Regional Champion of the Far East Bank Tournament. He was also the Champion in the Qualifying South East Asian Games Chess Tournament who put Iligan into the map of chess icons. He was the Gold medalist Board 2 Handuraw Festival Open Team Tournament and a 7th Placer in the Asian Continental Individual Chess Tournament. He also won the Misamis Oriental Chess Cup.
In 2009, he got his FIDE Master World Title in the field of chess by the World Chess Federation – the only title holder from Iligan City.
Mr. ROBERT D. TIMONERA
PHOTOJOURNALISM
He is a distinguished news correspondent of the Manila Chronicle, staff reporter of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, photo journalist and author of Soldiers for Peace.
He prides himself as a Catholic Mass Media Awardee and Correspondent of the Year. His photos made it to a number of headlines both in Magazines, newspapers and the web. He founded the Mindanews.com who elevates Mindanao into the world scene. He is also a contributor to Mabuhay Magazines and Smile Magazines. His pictures of Iligan and Mindanao depicted the true color of its people, its economy and culture.
His outstanding efforts in journalism and photography exemplify his commendable principles expressed in the following lines as “the Pen is mightier than sword”, “Risking life and limb for the story” and “Projecting Mindanao’s True Color”.
